Altáriel, Alatáriel - Original name of Galadriel

Amarië - Vanyarin Elf, Finrod Felagund's beloved who stayed in Aman

Aredhel - "Noble Elf" - Sister of Turgon of Gondolin

Arwen - Daughter of Elrond and Celebrían

Celebrían - Daughter of Galadriel and Celeborn and wife of Elrond.

Eärwen - Daughter of Olwë of Alqualondë, married Finarfin of the Noldor, mother of Finrod, Orodreth, Angrod, Aegnor, and Galadriel

Elenwë - Vanyarin Elf and wife of Turgon who died in the crossing of the Helcaraxë. She was the mother of Idril.

Elwing - "Star spray" - Daughter of Dior and wife of Eärendil and mother of Elrond. She went with Eärendil to Valinor.

Faelivrin - A name Gwindor gave to Finduilas

Finduilas - Daughter of Orodreth

Idril - Also called Celebrindal or "Silverfoot", Daughter of Turgon and Elenwë and mother of Eärendil

Indis - Vanyarin Elf and mother of Fingolfin and Finarfin.

Galadriel - Daughter of Finarfin and Eärwen. She was the sister of Finrod. She was one of the leaders of the rebellion. She was the keeper of Nenya, the Ring of Water in Lothlórien.

Lúthien - Daughter of Melian the Maia and Thingol, wife of Beren, mother of Dior

Míriel - Mother of Fëanor

Nerdanel - Called "the Wise" - Noldorin daughter of Mahtan and wife of Fëanor. She became estranged from her husband and did not join in his revolt.

Nerwen - "Man Maiden" - The Mother-name of Galadriel

Nimloth - Elf of Doriath and wife of Dior and mother of Elwing. In Unfinished Tales, Nimloth is the daughter of Galathil and the niece of Celeborn. Galathil is the son of Galadhon, who is the son of Elmo. Elmo is the brother of Elwë.

Aegnor - Fourth son of Finarfin and Eärwen

Aerandir - "Sea-Wanderer" - One of three mariners who accompany Earendil, an Elf of Sirion (?)

Amras - The youngest son of Fëanor and Nerdanel and twin brother of Amrod

Amrod - A son of Fëanor and Nerdanel and twin brother of Amras

Anárion - Younger son of Elendil

Angrod - Third son of Finarfin and Eärwen

Annael - Grey-elf of Mithrim

Aranel - A name for Dior, Thingol's heir

Aranwé - Elf of Gondolin, father of Voronwé

Beleg - Archer of Doriath, friend of Túrin

Caranthir - Fourth son of Fëanor and Nerdanel

Celeborn - "Silver Tree" - Sindarin prince of Doriath and kinsman of Elwë. Husband of Galadriel. In the Unfinished Tales he is sometimes called the grandson of Olwë or the son of Galadhon, the son of Elmo. Elmo is a brother of Elwë and Olwë.

Celegorm - Third son of Fëanor and Nerdanel

Círdan - Telerin Elf and lord of the Falas

Curufin - Fifth son of Fëanor and Nerdanel

Curufinwë - Original name of Fëanor. "Curu" means "skill".

Daeron - King Thingol's minstrel and creator of the Cirth

Denethor - Son of Lenwë who led some of the Nandorin Elves to Ossiriand

Dior - Thingol's heir, the son of Beren and Lúthien, husband of Nimloth, and the father of Elwing

Eärendil - "Lover of the Sea" - Son of Tuor and Idril, husband of Elwing, father of Elrond and Elros, who sailed to Aman with Elwing and pleaded with the Valar for help.

Edrahil - A chief of the Elves of Nargothrond

Elladan - Son of Elrond and Celebrían

Elrohir - Son of Elrond and Celebrían

Elrond - "Star-dome" - Son of Elwing and Eärendil, Lord of Imladris (Rivendell) and keeper of Vilya, the Ring of the Air.

Elros - "Star Foam" - The brother of Elrond. He chose to be mortal and became the first ruler of Númenor.

Eluréd - "Heir of Elu" - Oldest son of Dior and Nimloth, brother of Elwing

Elurín - "Remembrance of Elu" - Youngest son of Dior and Nimloth, brother of Elwing

Elwë - Leader of the Teleri, with his brother Olwë he brought many of the Teleri west from Cuiviénen. Elwë stayed in Doriath with Melian. Also called Elu Thingol in Sindarin.

Eöl - Elf-smith who married Aredhel, Turgon's sister.

Ereinion - "Scion of kings" - Birth name of Gil-galad, the son of Fingon.

Erellont - One of three mariners who went with Eärendil to Valinor.

Erestor - Elrond's chief counsellor in Rivendell

Fëanor - Fëandro means "Spirit of Fire". Eldest son of Finwë and Finwë's first wife, Míriel, leader of the rebellion, maker of the Silmarils and creator of the Fëanorian script. His birth name was Curufinwë.

Finarfin - Third son of Finwë. His mother was Indis and his wife was Eärwen. He stayed in Aman. He was the father of Galadriel.

Fingolfin - Second son of Finwë. His mother was Indis. He was the High King of the Noldor.

Fingon - Eldest son of Fingolfin, rescued Maedhros, was High King of the Noldor.

Finrod - Oldest son of Finarfin and Eärwen. He was the founder and king of Nargothrond.

Finwë - Leader of the Noldor on the journey west from Cuiviénen. Father of Fëanor, Fingolfin, and Finarfin. He was killed in Aman.

Galadhon - In Unfinished Tales he is the son of Elmo, who is the brother of Elwë. Galadhon is the father of Celeborn and Galathil. Galathil is the father of Nimloth.

Galathil - In Unfinished Tales he is the brother of Celeborn and the father of Nimloth, the wife of Dior.

Gelmir - One Gelmir was an Elf of Nargothrond, one an Elf of Angrod.

Gil-galad - "Star of Radiance" - Name of Ereinion, the son of Fingon and High King of the Noldor.

Glorfindel - "Golden haired" - One Glorfindel was an Elf who died in Gondolin.

Guilin - Father of Gelmir and Gwindor, Elves of Nargothrond

Gwindor - Elf of Nargothrond who loved Finduilas.

Ingwë - Leader of the Vanyar and High King of all Elves

Legolas - The son of Thranduil and part of the Fellowship

Lenwë - A leader of the Teleri who refused to cross the Misty Mountains and became the leader of the Nandor

Maedhros - Eldest son of Fëanor and Nerdanel

Maeglin - Son of Eöl and Aredhel. Betrayed Gondolin to Morgoth

Maglor - Second son of Fëanor and Nerdanel

Mahtan - Smith of the Noldor in Aman and father of Nerdanel

Olwë - Brother of Elwë (Thingol) and leader of the Teleri in Alqualondë

Orodreth - Second son of Finarfin and Eärwen and king of Nargothrond

Rúmil - Noldorin sage of Tirion and the first creator of written characters

Saeros - Nandorin Elf and counsellor of Thingol in Doriath

Thranduil - Sindarin Elf and King of the Silvan Elves of Greenwood the Great, father of Legolas

Turgon - "Commander of Power" - Second son of Fingolfin and High King of the Noldor. Husband of Elenwë and father of Idril.

Voronwé - Elf of Gondolin, only surviving crew member out of seven ships sent into the west
